DC Bites + Style: March 5, 2014

  • Cava Grill – the fast-casual cousin of Cava Mezze Restaurant in Capitol Hill– is coming to Chinatown this summer (Cava Mezze Grill)
  • The Post has come out with its annual “40 Dishes Every Washingtonian Must Try” list.  What if we still want the pop tarts from last year?  (Washington Post)
  • The countdown continues for the opening of Trader Joe’s second DC location at  T and 14th St NW (PoPville)
  • Think Local First DC will be hosting “Locals Unplugged: Females in Fashion” – featuring the owners of Lettie Gooch, DeNada Design, and Redeem – next Thursday morning at the Ulysses Room in Truxton Circle.  (EventBrite)
  • Save up your money – Longchamp is coming to CityCenterDC.  Given the number of Longchamp bags we’ve seen around town this season, we’d say this French luxury brand has already made significant inroads here.  (Washingtonian)
  • Speaking of saving money, Sarah Jessica Parker’s new line of shoes are available at the metro-accesible Nordstrom at Pentagon City.  On the plus side, they’re cheaper than Manolos and Louboutins.  On the down side, they’re still quite expensive. (Refinery29)
  • The traffic nightmare that is M and Wisconsin Street NW in Georgetown may soon be home to an Under Armour Brand House outpost, potentially replacing Serendipity 3 (Racked DC).
